Tax, surcharges, and optional insurance are paid in Mexico and subject to a 6% transaction fee. Rates include Vehicle License Fee (VLF). Rates are for unlimited mileage. Rates are pre-paid.
Minimum of rental is 3 days and 30 days maximum.
Drop-off hours are between 9:00am and 5:30pm. Drop-off times before or after these hours will be subject to approval.
Premium Package rates include LDW insurance.
You must be 25 years of age to rent a vehicle; for an additional daily fee, you may rent between the ages of 21-24.
Valid driver's license, passport and credit card in renter's name are required.
Must book rental car for 3 days minimum.
Rates are based on 24-hour clock and any extra hours are billed at time of drop off.
All Avis vehicles are non-smoking; a cleaning fee of $250.00 USD will be applied to customers who smoke in the vehicle.
In case of excessive soil, odors, stains or any other situation that requires Avis to clean the vehicle interiors, upholstery, etc., a cleaning fee of $250.00 USD will apply.
INSURANCE
Loss Damage Waiver (LDW) - included in premium package rates
LDW is now available at all locations. Purchase of LDW relieves the customer of all financial responsibility damage to or loss of the Avis vehicle as a result of an accident or theft. It does not include the cost of replacing lost license plates or keys, tow services and police fines. 30% Preauthorization required.
Partial Damage Waiver (PDW)
PDW is available at all locations. Purchase of PDW covers damage to or loss of the Avis vehicle as a result of an accident or theft. PDW requires a deductible (non-waivable excess) for damages to, total loss of, or total theft of vehicle, including missing parts or accessories. Charge card hold: Total estimated rental charges plus 30%. $21.99 USD per day (A Group); $24.99 USD per day (B, C, D, E, F, I, XB, XK Groups); $27.99 USD per day (L, M, N, O, XH Groups); $29.99 USD per day (G, H, J Groups). PDW Deductibles are: $1,500 USD (A Group); $2,000 USD (B, C, D, E, F, I Groups); $2,500 USD (XB, XK Groups); $3,000 USD (L, M, N, O & XH Groups); $3,500 USD (G, H, J & HD Groups). Rates are subject to tax.
If PDW is taken, an additional $500 USD will be required in G, H, J, XD, & XF Groups.
If both LDW and PDW are declined, the renter is responsible for:
1. Full value of car, if stolen
2. Full value of any accessories, if stolen
3. Full value of repairs plus rental charge during repairs if damaged
The customer must also sign an "Acknowledgment of Responsibility."
Additional Liability Insurance (ALI)
ALI is available at all locations. Purchase of ALI increases property damage and public liability to MEP $15,000,000 (US $900,000 approx.) while driving within Mexico as long as the terms and conditions of the rental agreement are met. Theft of, or damage to parts and accessories are not covered. ALI is $14.99 USD per day in all groups. Rate is subject to tax.
Personal Accident Insurance (PAI)
PAI provides accidental death and medical expense benefits to the renter and all passengers in the Avis car. Coverage is up to MEP $500,000.00 (US $30,000.00 approx.) per incident in the vehicle. PAI is $4.99 USD per day in all car groups. Rate is subject to tax.
Motor Liability Insurance (SLI)
Property damage/public liability up to MEP $1,000,000 (US $60,000.00 approx.) is included in accordance with insurance laws of country. Theft of, or damage to parts and accessories are not covered. All expenses related to the vehicle are not included in this option.
Please Note: While debit cards are accepted by ESSV for pre-payment, they are not accepted directly at the Los Cabos Avis locations for insurance and additional charges. Credit cards are accepted and are required for the 30% authorization hold (deposit).
