DESCRIPTIONHacienda Santa Cruz is a magnificent 5-bedroom, 5-bath privately owned villa with spectacular views and gracious amenities. It is situated on more than 10,000 acres, with over 7 miles of pristine coastline on the historic and exclusive Rancho Las Cruces Resort (a Private Club), 25 miles southeast of the La Paz airport. The home’s surroundings are sumptuous, with its private patios and gardens all splendidly landscaped. Just off in the distance, across the sparkling Sea of Cortez, lies the island of Cerralvo, once known by the Spanish Conquistadores as the "Island of Pearls."Interior views are compelling as well: the hacienda has colonial stylings, with tasteful, refined appointments in the furnishings and artwork. Rooms are large but warm in feeling, befitting a 6,600-square-foot palace. All of the bedrooms have private baths and balcony terraces. There’s a lovely formal dining room and an appealing wood-burning fireplace as well. There’s fine dining outside too, with its roomy 4,200 square feet of outdoor space graced by beautiful iron furniture, and an equally beautiful pool. Private walkway to the beach. All of these harmonious elements beautifully coalesce at Hacienda Santa Cruz—it’s old-world charm at its zenith. NOTE: Hacienda Santa Cruz and Las Cruces are closed yearly between July 15th and October 15th. Property is easily accessed via the La Paz Airport (45 minute drive). I booked this house based on the recommendation of my agent at Earth, Sea & Sky, with only pictures and their experience to guide me. Job well done ESSV; this was the PERFECT place for our group. We drove up to La Paz from Cabo and arrived not really knowing what to expect. After about 45 minutes on a dirt road we arrived (feeling very adventurous) to find the most amazing place we have ever been. The beach was calm and beautiful and the house was amazing. This was luxurious 50’s style Mexico. The house is on private land that also has a small hotel. The hotel is exclusive to "club members" but has all the activities you could want in an isolated location such as this (ping pong, pool table, fishing, water trampoline, archery, skeet shooting, etc.) They offer the activities to anyone staying in the villa. This location is perfect for people with a private plane, as they have a built in runway to serve the hotel and villa. Also perfect for those who want to unplug. The pool area is large, with a great Jacuzzi and a short walk down a staircase to the beach. This was one of the most relaxing vacations of my life and I am counting on returning as soon as possible to this hidden gem.
