The numbers alone—6 bedrooms, 6 full baths plus 2 half-baths, 8,000 square feet—are impressive, but it’s the feel of a home that matters, and Laguna feels fantastic.

Initially you are struck by its dazzling beachfront location, opening to pristine waters lapping on a secluded beach. All six of this new villa’s suites give you delectable ocean views, and all six have their own balcony terraces and private baths. Furnishings are a winning blend of Hacienda and Balinese stylings. The broad expanses of the home’s wide windows pull your eye to the spacious terrace and inviting pool, and toward the glinting ocean beyond.

The infinity pool is two levels, and the best method to traverse from upper to lower is by using the 12-foot slide. When you tire of that exertion, relax in the full-service palapa-roofed bar. You won’t have trouble finding a place to sit—there are 22 lounge chairs around the property, and its open spaces mean they don’t have to be bunched in a crowd.

There’s much more of course—a fully equipped gourmet kitchen, a 120" rear-projection-screen TV (in a separate, splendidly appointed Media Room filled with Balinese art), a full gymnasium, FOUR dining areas—but trust us with this one, it’s all good. "WOW" is the best word to describe our time at Villa La Laguna. The rooms were great. The grounds were awesome. And the food...Angel is one heck of a chef. I could not get enough of his excellent preparations. Next time I will just tell him not to ask what we want...just surprise us! The location of the villa is one of the prettiest beaches in all of the Los Cabos area. "Spectacular" is a better word. We made good use of the Bocce court on the beachfront. Whales, rays, schools of fish, and beautiful vistas.
